Poems and strange mumblings

My Sunshine

"Trying to write, when words don’t come and me pens out of ink

Me eyes are tired and brain fuddled, it wont let me think

But I will smile through all the pain, I will make it, I will

I've got me best friend who brings sunshine on me windowsill".

In a dilemma I am cause the deadline’s getting near

Your last chance the publishers said, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Rush out to get more paper and ink, I must do right away

And would you believe me printers packed up, what a silly day.

Now back from shop, persist I will, to finish me song I must

Me faculties failing I have a brew, keeps me going but only just

Sweat and toil, till the midnight hour I rush out to the mailbox

Me song in post and fingers crossed, I’ve beaten that old fox.

That phone call comes the very next day from that publishing man

You done it he said, brilliant, well done, and you’ve gained a new fan

That song’s a hit he says, we’ll publish it, you’ll soon be top of the bill.

Thanks to me best friend, he made it happen, I will make it, I will.
