Poems and strange mumblings

MY SHADOW

(Dedication to Mom)

Each morning I awake, you are there by my side.

A help to start each day, in only you can I confide.

My every thought you know, all joy and sorrow too.

My laughter and my pain, I know I can rely on you.

You pull me through each day, whatever I may face.

Concern for me you always have, to protect in every case.

Only a few short years ago, my sadness so did show.

I lost the best friend I ever had, and I was so very low.

Her name was Daisy – my mom, how I do miss her so.

But you gave me hope, where no one else did go.

Music was her love and encourage me she did try.

I let her down so much and I know I made her cry.

But I am near the end of making her dream come true.

So if you can hear me MOM, I dedicate this to you.

Your grandsons would make you proud if you were here today.

Both have learnt your trade, a musical instrument they play.

You always said I could sing, and music was in my blood.

Now with the help of a dear friend, I am trying to get good.

Writing I have started again, to learn the piano as well.

How I wish you were here, but only my shadow I tell.
